Fall Forest Park Family Photos

There’s something especially magical about Forest Park family photos at any time of the year, but factor in a fall backdrop and you’ve got me sold. The golden leaves, crisp air, and warm evening light create the perfect backdrop for capturing the little moments that families will treasure for years to come.

This beautiful fall session at Forest Park was one of those sessions where the light seemed to be too good to be true. As the sun dipped lower in the sky, the light filtered through the trees, wrapping this sweet family in the softest golden light.

Special moments for these family photos

One of my favorite parts of this Forest Park family session was watching their little girl slowly come out of her shell. When they first arrived, she was a little bit shy, which is common with kids! Rather than rushing her, I made sure to give her time to snuggle with her parents, explore, and play at her own pace. Before long, and with the help of some of my favorite prompts, those shy looks turned into genuine giggles, and eventually the biggest, most joyful smiles!

I’ve been photographing this family since she was a newborn so it’s always a particular honor when families reach back out to me to photograph them again. That means something is going right!

As a St. Louis family photographer, my goal is never just to create beautiful portraits—it’s to preserve the feeling of this season of life. The way your child reaches for your hand, the leaf they pick up and hand to you, the laughter you share together, and the little expressions that change far too quickly are the memories worth holding onto.
