I had the best time in University City hanging out with Jason, Michelle, and Lily to do their newborn photography! I’ve known Michelle forever through her sister, who is one of my best friends from high school so it was such a beautiful, full circle moment to take their newborn pictures. Jason and Michelle are going to be such good parents- you can feel the love emulating from these pictures. Lily is also so luck to have a good big sister in her pup! She was so happy to be sniffing little Lily with her tail wagging.
One of my favorite things about newborn sessions is capturing the little details- all the little toes, hands, parents hands holding their little one’s head. Little babies grow up so fast and having these pictures is such a good way of capturing these sweet moments in time. I also love the slower paced nature of newborn sessions. As a former wedding photographer, everything was fast paced and I was often in control. For all family sessions, including newborn sessions, I can prompt for certain poses, but ultimately I am at the whim of the child/children and I think that’s GREAT for me.
Back to this newborn session though! I loved the light and airy vibes we were able to capture with the pop of color from Lily’s newborn wrap. It made sure to put some nice emphasis on her. Jason and Michelle opted from blue and cream neutral tones for their outfits and I loved it, they totally matched the vibe of their house!
